Default Rear Wheel Slant

Hello. Probably a dumb question, but here goes: Whenever I jack up the rear of my 1980 Vette, the wheel slants quite a bit - top (12 o'clock) moves so that 3/4s of the tire is outside of the wheelwell, and obviously the bottom (6 o'clock) is way in. When I let the car down, the wheel (or wheels) stay like this until I roll the car down the driveway a bit. Is this normal, or is it indicative of a problem? I assume that its ok in the air, but when I let it down, shouldn't it straighten out by itself without my rolling it? That really bugs me. Thanks! JG700

The straightening after rolling is normal. The tire hanging out sounds like the snap ring on your yoke has popped off or the end is worn off.

You can tell if the snap ring is missing. Just jack the car up so the wheel is of the ground, if you the push and pull on the wheel it should only move a small amount and have a possitive stop at both ends of the travel.
