1. Why do corvette seats (especially C4) wear like crap? I see the most beautiful cars - they look like new - except for the seats, which are all cracked and faded. I have seen C5s with the same thing going on. C3s probably have had the covers replaced.
2. Do you enjoy looking at your car as much as I do mine? (OK, I think this question has been asked before) I can't keep it covered in the garage, and I turn the light on just to pass thru the garage to look at it! :)
If you are talking about the leather seats, I think it is because nobody puts on any leather conditioners or oils. A couple of weeks ago, a guy parked his Acura Legend beside my wife's identical year and color. We noticed how poor his interior looked when compared to mine. I clean my leather seats 3-4 times per year and put conditioner with oils on them. They barely look used at all. In addition, on all my cars equipped with bucket seats, I put the seat all the way back in the track prior to exiting. I saw a 2001 Corvette on display in the National Corvette Museum and all of the visitors were getting in and out as they had their picture taken. The drivers seat bolster was almost worn through because folk's butts kept rubbing up against it.

Good point about the seats! As for staring at your car in the garage, I think it's because your '68 body style was way ahead of it's time and looks very fast just sitting parked in the garage. Not that I'm partial to 68's more than any other year of course!
1. Who in the heck put the heater core there? :cuss
2. Who in the heck designed the center console, and placed that 1 bolt in the nether regions under the storage compartments
Sorry for the negativity, my car has been off the road since Carlisle :( Hopefully have it up and running again before Thanksgiving :smash:
Here's one for you. WHY did they have 2 frames for these cars (auto vs. manual)? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to make 2 different crossmembers and have the same frame? It sure would make taking the tranny out a hell of a lot easier.
