Eight or nine years ago I was having that problem on my 68 (427) - the shop ran new fuel lines and that solved the problem, if I recall the problem was the return line.
I had serious vapor lock problems till two weeks ago.
You can try insulating the lines & fuel pump but the most realiable cure I was advised is a cheap electric fuel pump back at the tank.
My problem is no more
hello. the car had been missing a little when you got on it (not real hard). we had been driving it for oh, about half an hour 45 mins and it started missing worse. i would stop and it would get REAL doggy on take off. i got to thinking this isn't good so i tried not to stop at all and get it home. as i was pulling into the parking lot it about died. i let it sit for abour 10-15 mins, started up took off and it did fine... what do you think? thanks for responding by the way!

What was the temperature when it shut down? What you describe could also be a little bit of water in the gas, vapor lock only happens when it's hot enough to evaporate the fuel in the lines.
well the temp guage wasn't really reading hot. it was warm inside the car. it does have the side exaust if that makes a difference.. a can of seafoam wouldn't hurt anything would it?
