#1, look for any hoses you might have mis/disconnected to see if you've created a vaccum leak.
#2, look to see if you might have a conflict with the electric choke where the cleaner is holding it open.
Dumb question, but I take it you also tried putting the old air cleaner back on?
When I read on the edelbrock site, he said to put a 3/4 air cleaner spacer to clear the electric choke... I going to try the old air cleaner and If that work, I going to buy the spacer..
I try the old air cleaner and I got the same problems.. But, when I look under the air cleaner, on the carbs, I saw the front inlet (the small one) still open.. I can't close it.
