Default Exhaust system recommendations.

I will need to purchase a complete exhaust system for my 72 sb (4-speed). Any suggestions on where to purchase and your experience installing it. Thanks in advance.

I purchased a complete system from Corvette Central...reasonably priced, excellent quality. It went on perfectly and sounded great.

I'll second the recommendation for Corvette Central. Replaced my exhaust system with their products over 2 years ago and am satisfied with the sound, durability, fit, and price.

I think you can get better prices and materials by having a local muffler shop run you a custom exhaust system and mufflers. They will be able to bend everything for your install there in house and will see any unseen factors that the online kit won't account for.

That, and you get a warranty with the work when they install it.

Have not purchased anything yet but I'm in between those two:

http://www.pypesexhaust.com/sys-vette1.html

and

http://www.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com

But I'm 90% going with pype for the benefit of the crossover and the electric cutouts. Still waiting on forum member feedback ... no one installed it yet !!

good luck

I agree, BUT my prob with the local Idaho shops with my 77 is they won't do duel due to the Fed emisisons mandate.

Or Mid-America Corvette that's where I got mine. I see your located in NJ. Not sure about your area but near me there are two Meineke shops that install custom exhaust systems. H-pipe, flowmaster or cherry bomb mufflers (the new cherry bomb mufflers not just the glass pack ones) and 2.5 aluminize custom bent pipe w/chrome tips nice systems.
