AC stopped working last summer. I installed a new expansion valve and a new POA eliminator kit. Started to add freon it won't take the r12freon. What' the deal.

Did you replace the drier/receiver? Did you vacuum the system before adding freon? Is the compressor turning? Is the schrader valve working properly where you are adding freon?
I installed new dryer last summer when I got the system working the 1st time after the repaint and engine overhaul. No, I did not pull a vac this time, I did last time. Maybe I just need to take it to the shop and have a vac pulled again. But I've charged AC's before without pulling a vac. I just can't figure this one out.

You must pull a good vacuum for a minimum 45 minutes. Otherwise the system will have air in and will never operate properly. Additionally, air has moisture in it, which when mixed with freon, has a corroding effect on aluminum parts.
Somtimes something so obvious is not so obvious. Problem solved it was the freon charge hose. Changed hoses, charged system, cooling like a champ. Thanks for the replies
just a reminder, since you have the updated POA, you'll notice that the compressor switch in the valve will not contact unless there is a pressure in the system, so you need to jumper that connection initially to switch on the compressor for the first time you add freon.
