Hi everyone. I am in the middle of installing a Steeroids kit on my 75. Anyone have any advice or comments on aligning the steering wheel so I don't need to modify the turn signal cam? I seem to be getting just slightly less than one full turn lock-to-lock. Sound about right?
So far, the brackets on both sides have fit perfectly. The R&P fits the brackets correctly. I have not installed the hoses yet.
I fitted a Steeroids kit to my 76 in UK last year. No problems, with the install, but after trying to set up the steering wheel in the correct position I found it was upside down when I drove the car! I just disconneced the universal joint and turned it until the wheel was straight and had no problems. Should be no need to modify the turn signal cam.
It should be more than one turn lock to lock. Check the lock bolts on the universal joint are not catching. I had a problem with one hitting the mounting bracket.
