I remember seeing this topic here once before, but I cannot find it....so i apologize for repeating it.
Considering the C2 and C3 share the same chassis.....and from what i can tell the same center dump style ram horn exhaust manifolds, then I would think they would fit.....I believe you would have to "trim" the end to match the shape of the covers.
The reason I ask is I love the sound of the earlier "chambered" style side pipes over the "muffler" type used on the 69's.
I'm intrested in this too. I'm planning to put side pipes to my 1979 and been looking for different alternatives. I think the pipecovers on mid years are very good looking and I would like to see how they would suit C3s.
I installed side pipes on my 78 with the C-2 side covers. It looks and fits good. I did have to trim the ends of the covers to fit the contours of the 78. I also had to trim the long trim piece that hides the screws on the side covers. I think the covers look a lot better than the C-3 covers, Cheaper too! . I can e-mail you pictures if you want to see the installation. Roger L. Gibbons
Here are the pictures of the side pipes and covers. I also installed a new TPI engine tat was for a 93 Camaro. It was a big performance and driveability improvement over the stock L-82. Roger L. Gibbons 1978 and 1980 Corvettes. [IMG][/IMG]
