Lizardskin anyone
Is it as good as I hear.
How easy is it to apply and did you just do the inside or did you do the engine compartment too.
It is as good as you hear but costs more as a result.
It can also be easy to apply so long as you take your time, prep the surfaces properly, and follow the instructions.
I would not suggest it in finished areas as it's not a pretty application. It's supposed to work behind the scenes and it will do just that.
It'll be great for inside doors, and foot wells and places where it's hard to get the mat down.

For prep I cleaned the firewall with laquer thinner to remove all traces of oir/grease but others have told me it wasen't necessary, all the same I'd clean everyhing up just to be safe.
You need a special gun which you can usually rent, others have said they thought you could use an undercoating spray gun, but I can't say, the stuff is VERY thick in the container. I'd rent the gun, less to worry about.
I thought the finish was excellent, very smooth and no cracks at all. It remains slightly plyable so as the car flexes the stuff will not crack. The benefit over gluing on insuation is that it fills every crack and crevice, there are no seams. It will rust carbon steel so if you spray brackets/screws etc. they should be masked. It's very thin.....on the order of .050; less than 1/16th of an inch so there's no huge buildup of material making for problems fitting things together later.
It is also advertised as a fire retardent.
I am 150% impressed with it's insulating qualities, it has turned my car into a pleasure to drive on a hot day vs a car that got left in the garage. I also installed ceramic coated headers at the same time so I expect there was a benifit there also.
I have a few pictures of the stuff as I was installing it, I'll post them later.
Bill
Here's a few pics as promised, not as good as SuprJames great documentation! If you don't do anything else, do the heater/AC box. Check the temp of mine BEFORE I put on the stuff after a really hot day ride. Somewhere I had a picture of the box after I installed the stuff but I can't find the darn thing anywhere.

I did the same lizardskin install last winter. I highly recommend doing this during the summer or warm months as you can't spray this in under 65 degrees. I had a hell of a time getting my stupid car port tent above that temp to spray the lizardskin in the dead of winter. Took a few propane heaters and a kerosen heater and a bunch of air circulating fans. Got that bad boy up to 83 degrees haha The lizardskin is not flamable and very soluable with water. Definitely spray before or after winter.
Spraying was very easy. I used their gun setup. They didn't rent and I'm not sure they do now as they made a big stink when I asked them to consider renting the gun setup b/c it was big bucks for a one time use. But I folded.
I used an inline air regulator found at home depot and my compressor. Was fun spraying it.
I sprayed the entire underside of the car, firewall and entire interior including the inside firewall and inside the doors (sidepipes).
Make sure you cover your car afterwards b/c if rain hits it it will dilute the lizardskin. I sprayed the underside of the car laying on my back and the stuff stuck right to the fiberglass, no drips.
I also painted over it as I didn't enjoy the dark grey finish.
The car will be on the road in the next few months so I'll let you know if I agree with Bill on the satisfaction %.
So far....quality product.
