Default Stealth Ram or Mini Ram

I searched the archives for this but did not come up with too much information. If anyone has a link to either of these manifolds please send them over.

My question is if anyone here has used either one of these set ups with a TPI computer. I am actually just looking into either of these set ups. My engine is a 40 over 350, vortec heads, LT4 roller cam. Will both of these intakes fit under a stock hood? How much would one of these cost? The ones I have found have just the intake and plenum, no rails, injectors, waterneck, or throttle body. I know the throttle body and injectors can come off the TPI which I don't currently have. Opinions about running this set up with a mega squirt control?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I can comment on the Mini-Ram since I have one on my 420 sbc. It does fit under the stock hood, at least on my 80 with plenty of room. I originally had the stock TPI ECU/harness but as the engine kept getting more radical, I couldn't get it to run the way it should. It was way too rich. Since then I have switched to a FAST system and after initially replacing 2 ECU's in 6 months all is well.

Sorry, I think I forgot to post the year of my car. It is a 1975 Corvette, so I am guessing there shouldn't be a problem fitting this into my car if it fit in your 1980. How much can I expect to have in this system? Did you first start off with a TPI and then switch over to the Mini Ram? If so what changes can you note?

HI

I have a Holley Stealth Ram Under the hood of my 81
However I have a high-rise hood and I believe it gives me 2 ½” extra but I’m not 100% on that.
Other then that I cant say to much I’m still waiting to get my car back from the mechanic should be at the end of this week I think.
I can tell you that I ditch the Holley computer and went for a Wolf 3D V500 engine computer.

I will let you all know more when I get it back.

Your vortec heads might restrict your choices. These heads have taller intake ports and a different bolt pattern when compared with a 'standard' head. I believe that stealth and minirams were both designed for standard heads.

I checked out that site. Some good info. I was hoping for more Vette specific info though. Mainly a total EFI swap. Checking out some of the vendor sites, the intake looks like it comes bare. I was just wondering what all from a standard TPI can transfer over, and then from there what else will I need. Looking forward to hearing back about the Stealth Ram after you get the car out of the shop
