Whose rebuilt Quadrajet is the best? I see that Holley, Summit, JET, and even NAPA have them. I've read on this forum to stay away from the Holley-rebuilt ones.
From what I have read most of the rebuilt Q-jets are not built correctly. If you want it done correct ask Lars if he is able to do it for ya. Or read his papers, ask some questions and do it yourself.

Rgr that. I've cleaned and rebuilt the thing, and I re-bushed the primary throttle shaft last night but I still have a rough idle and a bit of stumble at cruise throttle. Starting to think it isn't the carb...frustrated now...
What is the float set at? From what I have read if the float is not set perfect you can run into a wide range of problems. I believe anything newer than 1975 should have the float set at 0.420", Im sure Lars will chime to confirm.

Thanks for the info guys. After doing some research this evening, and playing with the motor a bit, I think my idle and cruise roughness may not be related to the carb at all. I think I may have lashed my valves a little too tight when I was rebuilding the top end a couple of weeks ago. Going to work on that in the morning.
