I'm considering some AFR210 Eliminators for the 396 SB I'm going to install. They have a .250 raised exhaust port. Would this cause any significant clearance issues using Hooker sidepipes?

i have the same heads on my 406 and they caused me some clearance iussues with my new undercarriage hookers, on the other hand they didnt with my previous hooker side pipes headers.
I just installed a 427 sb with the 210 Elim AFR heads and hooker 1 7/8" headers/4" sidepipes and urethane motor mounts. Some dinging required for the steering box and steering linkage on the passenger side. Also have to notch the front of the rocker covers. I removed the rocker covers, installed the headers very loosely, removed the back tires, installed the rocker covers, marked the rocker covers to slot them in the front and then finally slid them back into place, then tightened up the headers.
I have read others that have had problems with the header tubes touching or coming very close to the back of the front fenders, but mine were about 1" on each side. Probably depends on how good the body mounts are.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I want to mess around with any clearance probs. I may start looking at some DART Pro1's or Canfield 220's or maybe just go with the AFR 195's.
