Hope someone can help me..... i would like to change the stock 15 X 8 rally wheels on my 1976 to a set of cragers ss 5 spoke with a set of BF Goodrich T/A Radials on them what would be the best size to run with out any rubbing or modification thanks ..........Bill
The appropriate size for your car is a 215/70R15. That's closest to the GR70-15 your car originally came with.
60 series MAY work, as already said. 60 series weren't authorized by Chevy until the '78 model year. Body changes took care of clearance issues.
Since it seems to be a car by car thing if the wider tires fit pre-'78 C3's, it makes me wonder if variations in body panels from different suppliers may be the reason. Chevy did change body panel suppliers several times.
A few year ago i found a set of rallys blasted ready for paint with cap and ring 200.00 also pair of 50 new t/a. anyway the guy i got the from said that most of the c3 tend to wander unless you go to a 60. so i got 255 rears 245 frounts 60-s, unsure how it will work have't put them on yet ?
