I upgraded to the CS144, and bought one from O'Reilley's instead of the Powermaster as planned.
Using suggestions from the CF, and checking with O'Reilley's, I had the following to choose from:
Ultma 01-580 1993 Coupe de Ville Lg Pulley, Completely Black Fan
Ultma 01-581 1993 Coupe de Ville Lg Pulley, Black Fan w/Silver 'tabs'
Ultma 01-584 1995 Impala Sm Pulley, Black Fan w/Gold 'tabs'
The 580 was the one I went with and it had a completely black fan, which looked like the 'tabs' were covered with plastic. I went with it because it had a $10 higher price - figuring something on it was better.
I hope the 580 will give me 140 amps and be comparable to the Powermaster
What do you all think the difference (if any) is in the little colored 'tabs' that are around the circumference of the fan. They look like the black plastic that covered the fan was not applied on the tab area. There are may be 10 tabs to each fan.
Also - just FYI, the 581 was a tad different as it had an additional plug in the back. It was rectangular and had 3 thick metal pins that protruded. I hear that was for a Rear Window Defogger or something.
All the alternators had the serpentine style pulley. These pullies have a wedged shim that holds the pulley in place. I will check with the aftermarket guys next week to see if they have a V-Belt pulley that has the wedge shim, as I thought it would be best to hold the pulley into place.

Well, I am really not finalized on everything, but since you are ready, here we go...... The pics are pretty self explanatory - Here is the meat of it:
I used the above mentioned alternator.
I re-clocked the alt so that the male/female plug is pointing up.
I had to grind on the alternator case a bit.
I modified the outer alternator bracket by making one relief cut at the existing 'bend'
I re-verified all clearances.
Re-welded the bracket and am re-fiinshing now.
I do need to assess belt line-up yet.
Oh - BTW - the serpentine pulley is mounted using a wedged shim. The double V-belt pulley I need to mount has a inner hole htat is a consistent inside diameter, whereas the serp pulley does not. I like the way the serp pulley mounted - I wonder if there is an aftermarket one I could buy that is wedged?
Last - the 2"x4" wood is an 'Go-By' indicator of where the old SI used to sit when adjusted properly.

There is another good post with a link to an article by Gator454 on Crossed Flags, but I only modified my bracket in one area and I left the lower area for the power steering mount alone.
