Nitto 555R

they are a good choice... Not the Absolute best drag radial by general consensus but the only one I would recommend on a street driven car...

I run 325/50 VR15 on the rear with 15x12 rims and 275/50's with 15x10's on the front for AutoCross

Without flares a 275/60 on a 8-10" rim might be a better choice...

IMHO

I am also running Nitto DR's on my 79. They are mounted on stock aluminum 15 X 8 wheels. The car is not driven on the street much, but the Nitto's are purdy good on the street as drag radials go. This is a link to one size Nitto's Jegs has listed. Mine are the 50 series and only have a 25.75 tire diameter. I think the 60 series tires are 27.76 inches in diameter and closer to the stock size. Jegs has both and you can get a detailed description there.

This is how the 50 series looks on the back of my 79

I just bought a pair of BFG 275/60/15 (28 inch tall) DR's for my 77. I mounted them on stock aluminum wheels - same size asrally wheels. I have to reroute the parking brake cables, but otherwise, they fit.
