Default Where to buy?

The rod that goes to the door handle that runs on the inside of the doorpanel and goes directly to the door lock assembly? I have a 1976.

It is not either of these two. These two run the locking mechanism and are on the exterior of the doorpanel. The rod I am talking about is longer than either of these two. Help me out. I cant find it. I want to be able to open the door of my vette from the inside!

What you need is called the door opening control rod.....

I don't think Ecklers ever had this part & Corvette Central has discontinued it. Wish I could help you out..............

You may well have to fab one, try a length of 1/8 inch welding rod...bent to some solution...or welded....

or in the short term....coathanger...nice and thick....

steel rod from HD/LOwes works too....

for the clips, if any,....I forget....try a parts house in the red tag hanging HELP/similar sections....

Yup... Thought about dropping by home depot to see what they had in the ways of metal rods so I could figure out if I could fab up something.

Well if the Depot is a bust, we should have the rod used. Call Joe on Monday at 800-588-3883. You pick the item number and then tell him to go to the help section so he can view the same picture. The pic number on our site is rep 11.

Sorry for taking so long to respond but thanks soo much for the help. I tried to fab something up, but it didnt work due to the amount of pressure it took, it ended up bending the rod out... I will definitely order one from the doc or wilcox later today. Thanks guys.
