Default Need headers for fast burns...

Got a 385 turn key now i need headers to fit. I've did searches for d-port headers, fast burn headers etc. nothing conclusive. From what i've gathered hooker super comps will be large enough to cover the d-ports, so what part number are those? Can someone with some fast burn heads and headers drop me a line? Thanks!

Got mine from JEGS. They are Hedman "ceramic" chrome for my 350 with GM fast burn aluminum heads.
$415.00 delivered.
Check them out.

There are some D port headers on the market. I agonized about this problem since I have a ZZ4. Several forum members said you could use standard SB oval port headers. I wasn't sure this was really correct, but when I was on a Edelbrock factory tour, we went through their intake manifold department and listened to a presentation by their intake manifold designer. (Cal Tech PhD) After his presentaton I asked about putting standard SB headers on my D port heads. He also said it was ok. He said that the exhaust gases were so energetic, that the header flanges didn't exactly have to match the heads, in fact he reminded me of some reversion headers that purposefully mismatch the headers to the ports. (He did comment that for the intake manifold, matching to the heads was very important.)

That being said, I bought a set of standard port headers, laid a D port gasket on the flange, used a grinder to make the header flange match up to my D port gasket. It was a really good match.

I just installed a ZZ4 in my '73 and used my existing long tube Dynomax 1 1/2" tube headers with no problem at all.
The D ports on the ZZ are very small and are easily covered with the 1 1/2" tubes

If you already have headers and if the Fast burn heads have the exact same dimensions as the ZZ4 heads you will have no issues using your existing headers.
