Re: 350 Engine decoding - HELP please (SuperFast80)
Hmmm...that sounds strangely like a late 60's engine. They changed the engine codes in '70...and added a "C" in front of the suffix. My engine code is something like (I'm at work and not near my documentation):
V0827HX
The H does signify 327/350ci engine size.
As for the "0010" casting, it is the same (I'll double check) casting as my 350. I'll do some more digging.
Re: 350 Engine decoding - HELP please (SuperFast80)
I agree with the others that the 0010 block is a standard 350 that was in use for many years and many applications from trucks to Corvettes. The H code however causes me some confusion because according the "The Lime Book", H was a 348 ci, 250 hp engine used passenger cars from 58-61. Are you sure there isn't another letter there that may be faint, difficult to read, or painted/rusted over?
