Default Shift Boot Retainer

Is there a difference between an auto & 4-speed lower shift boot reatiner? I'm talking about the retainer ring that is rivited to the underside of the tunnel where the shifter comes through, It's what the lower shift boot screws to. My car was an auto to 4-speed conversion and my 4-speed lower boot holes don't even come close to matching up....?????

i had to add to the fiberglass in order to set the lower shift boot when i converted. there was an area that the boot didn't cover. i also had to bend the metal retaining ring for better fit to the countours of the tunnel. i remember that the screw holes lined up ok on the front and driver's side, but of course, the others didn't.

I've done the glass work and bent the ring too. Just thought there might be a different retainer ring for 4-speed (no luck looking in catalogs) that fits the 4-speed lower boot better. Previous ower who did the conversion never completed the job...
