Hate to see it come but winter is just about here in Mi. So I have a few things that I wanted to do to the 77 One is to change the 350 Th. trans to a 700r4 but I was told to look at the UNDER/OVERDRIVE system from GEAR VENDORS any one here have one or know any with one and how they like it.
I do run the car at the drag strip some so I guess that I am looking for the best of both worlds Better mileage and more power. The engine is 383 with a 3:73 rear end best time so far 12:58@107 mph :D :flag :flag
A good source for inexpensive Gear Vendors overdrive units is old used class C motorhomes. My dad had a really clean '86 Ford class C motor home with a Gear Vendors unit on it (just needed to buy the GM tailshaft adapter to make it work on the Vette). He sold the motor home for $8300. I had always threatened to remove the unit before he sold it knowing that it wouldn't affect the sales price. But, I didn't remove it and he sold it.
Look for a really good deal on one, buy it, remove the OD unit and sell it for the same or more than you paid. Or, find a wrecked one and buy the OD unit off of it.
This may sound like a stretch but it is a viable option.
