The PPG matching system appears to have worked good on the paint match. I got the cover from GM parts direct. If you can get a body shop price from a Chevy dealer it is real close to the GM parts direct price. I have been told the cover is still in the GM parts system.
The bumper cover came from GM parts direct. The bodyshop sent me to a PPG jobber who used a computer camera to determine the mixture for the paint. The body shop has its own PPG paint mixing system in house and used the recipe from the jobber. The body shop owner painted the cover himself. He mentioned that something was funny about the primer that came on the cover. The sealer he used took care of that I guess. This spring/summer I have plowed some cash into my car. Between the radiator and bumper cover my pocket is a little lighter. Time to enjoy it this fall.
