Is there any trick for stopping an oil leak around the distributor? It`s a new msd with a new gasket.
If your sure it's leaking from the distributor then make sure that you don't have 2 gaskets there (the old one could have stuck to the manifold during replacement, not common but possible) and be sure the manifold surface was clean before the new dist was installed and the hold down is tight.
If the rear of the intake is leaking as Durango mentioned (quite common)then pull intake, clean both mating surfaces, run a 1/4" dia. bead of RTV along the length of the front and back of the block and a 1/4" up over the new intake gaskets and a very thin bead of RTV around the water inlets.
I would not recommend using the existing gaskets even if they were just installed.
Wait a few hours before firing the engine so the silicone has time to cure.
Re-torque the intake after a few hours of running.
