After looking around, I've found a quadrajet with the correct number for my car. However, the date code on the quadrajet is dated Jan. '75, whereas my car was built in May '75. To be fully correct, do these two date codes need to match? Thanks for any information.
Re: Question About Rochester Carb. Date Code. (75SHARK)
A Jan date works out fine for you and your "May" car. NCRS judges on a "6 month" time frame. Just so the part is'nt built "after" the build date of the car is what is important. At least to us "resto" people. Sometimes the parts go even farther. My Sept 8,'73 build date on my '74, has a dated master cylinder of 0034, which is the third day of Jan '73. My '80, being a June car, has a transmission case dated 6-18-79!!!
