i see that a lot of you use this product and the pics i have seen have convinced me to try it next spring.what i would like to know is: i just bought my 69 a few weeks ago and was told the paint was done 5 years ago, black with 5 coats of clear.he never put a coat of wax on it and it never saw the rain.there are the obvious swirl marks but there is also a lot of spots where the paint looks dull.almost like when you wax and do not get all the wax off.i was going to get the car proffesionally polished. should i still gt it done then do the Zaino, or would i be able to get the dull spots out myself? i do not know whether the dull is from him not waxing it or if the guy that did the paint maybe polished before it was picked up and went to hard with the buffer. anyone help??
Re: Zaino...i have a question about it... (1bad69)
I have never used zaino but i have talked to plenty of people who have and they all tell me that if you put a couple of coats of zaino, it should take the marks and water spots out. I hope this helps :)
Re: Zaino...i have a question about it... (1bad69)
Check on the Zaino site for all of the things Zaino can & can't do. For example, a clay bar may remove some of the water spots, but there are other things to use that would probably work better.
Never having wax on it doesn't sound like a particularly good thing. There are a lot of things out there (sun, pollution, solid particles, etc.) that can damage the paint.
I think you could try to polish it yourself and if you're not happy with the results, take it to a pro & then Zaino it.
I've stated before that I think Zaino is a good product, but I think it will enhance the look of both the good & the bad paint. That is, the parts of my paint that are good look GREAT, but the parts that are bad (Orange Peel, chips, etc.) look TERRIBLE.
You've got to have a black car perfect for it to really look good. Unfortunately for me, mine is far from perfect and is probably what you'd call a "15 footer" at best.
With the imperfections that my car has I think it probably looks better with something like NuFinish or Formula 2001, but now that the Zaino is on there, it's going to stay there until I get it repainted. Then it will go on again.
