well today some ahole decided to cut across three lanes of traffic and cut me off to make a turn. I had to lock the brakes up on the vette to keep from hitting him. well i hear a pop did not think much of it cause the car did not have a weird feel or anything. So i got home to check it and find that the washer on the rear of the lower a arm broke off so that was the pop. Can I get these washers at the parts store? And will i be able to just pull the bolt and put on a new washer or will i have to drop the a arm?
I think you have more serious problems if the control arm moved enough to break a washer (maybe the bolt head also?) I would guess that the control arm bushings are in need of replacement.
bushings are not even a year old they are energy suspension poly bushings. I ordered a bolt and washer kit from covette central. The washers on the control arms are not the factory style washers so thats more than likely the problem.

When using poly (ES) front CA bushings ... Make certain the bolts that hold the washers are very secure with loctite. Ensure the poly parts are fully-seated into shells ... clean out the CA shafts' holes & clean bolt threads ... reinstall bolts with loctite. Preceding applies to poly ONLY ... not rubber.
