Default GM Motor Mounts

I have tried, with no success, to find a place to buy the OEM GM motor mounts. I think the mount kit is GM part #6258154, and is one mount and correct bolts. Does anyone know if these are available anywhere? If not, are the same type available through another company. I have been told they are bulletproof and fit correctly, which cannot be said for a lot of the aftermarket mounts. any info appreciated

"Bulletproof" is hardly the word I'd use for the stock motor mounts. There are much better aftermarket designs available, such as the locking type that keep your engine from moving when the inevitable motor mount separation occurs.

Here's a place with a pair for $160. http://www.wernersparts.com/N.O.S.%2...ld%20Stock.htm

Second hit on Google for "GM 6258154".

If you're using rubber mounts, definetely use the GM. If you compared side-by-side GM's with the stuff from Asia, you'd see why.

The GM mounts are expensive (the above price is about right) but worth it. If you need, I can probably dig up the part number (same mont, L & R).

I tried a set of new GM replacements... AC Delco brand. They seperated the first time I stepped on it with the new 383.

Went with Energy Suspension poly mounts.

I got a pair from Corvette Central. They "look" like the original ones I took off. The old ones looked great after I cleaned and painted them but because they came off my '71 I decided to get "new" mounts.

Should I send them back??

I wouldn't. They are 37 years old now.

That's what I'm using on my 383 and 350.

I tore my driver side rubber mount, replaced just that side with poly, no increase in vibration and the eng barely moves when I hit the loud pedal hard (drove it without the hood after replacing the mount).
