I have a70 convertilbe. I am in the process of recovering my seats and want to know how many shoulder access holes or slots are in each seat. One of my seats has an access slot on both sides for the shoulder harness on the seat back, and the other has none. I don't know if the seats have been replaced at one time or another, or recovered wrong at sometime, but I want ot make it right. Do the seats have two slots each, or just one for the actual shoulder harness? Any pictures would help also.
Well, if the car was delivered with shoulder belts then there would be one slot on the outside (door side) of each seat while the other slot is blocked off.
The seats are interchangeable, meaning that there is no left or right seat.
Many people swap them as the drivers seat usually wears much quicker than the passenger seat because it obviously gets more use.
Why you have two slots in one seat and none in the other is anybody's guess.
That is waht I thought and the most logical. I can only assume someone swapped the seats left to right and had to put another hole on the drivers side for the harness, and left the other seat without anholes for the harness. I plan to take one of the brackets from the seat with two, and put it into the other so each one has one.
