Speedometer cable installetion
The speedometer cable broke on my 1976, I have connected the end on the cluster however. The question I have is once it gets connected on the transmition does the end of the cable have to snap inside some how or stays loose?
Please help..

The end on the transmission screws onto the gear sleeve. The cable hooks on some small brackets that are on the transmission tunnel. If your cable is flopping around it will fall down on your exhaust pipe and burn through. Use plastic ties to keep it away.
