Should still be iron. The aluminum stuff came in for '80.

I think it is a very promising setup.

Ever think of placing the front arms more inward to provide clearance for wider tires that some will use.

A thought on the price maybe if it all works out ?

Default Price...

Sorry no idea about costs!

As you know when you first time build something the costs are not detectables!

After everything is alltogether and working proprely..... then you can check the costs..... for doing one more time without errors!

The chassis pocket is much larger that the front bracket..... so I'm planning to shim outwards in order to acquire some more clearance!

Unfortunally it's impossible to realize "offset" rods.....

I'm not talking offset rods . . take a look at the guldstrand kit, it places the rods mounting point on the side of the hub/carrier.

Default Ok..

I know the Guldstrand system..... but the clearance issue is nearly at 7-8" from the center of the hub... where there is the rim and the tire.

Actually the total lenght (center to center) of the trailing arm is a little mora that 17"...... so the rim is nearly in the mid point of the arm!

Due to this fact you calculate that the widest zone of the wheel is nearly a 12-13" from the hub-center.... and the offset designed in the front bracket is enough!

Of course, if you like, you can place the rodends inside the hub, but I think is not mandatory unless you don't use very wide wheels and tires!

Nice Video!

Maybe next summer I can drive mine again.

And the rear suspension is looking good.
I'm very interested in it's bump steer numbers...

Default Bump steer..

As per design, the Bump-Steer can be adjusted from positive to negative....... changing the hole where to bolt the rod ends!

Basically the design is centered in a zero-steer configuration!
In fact the dimension of the toe control rod is nominally neutral..... and, if you see, the angle is the same.

I have built-in some adjustement because you must be able to compensate the variation in camber you may like......

You have two options:

1) you can change the camber adjusting the lower rod and the toe-rod.
2) you can change the camber edjusting the lower and the upper rod.

There is even the possibility to adjust the wheel-hop during hard braking.... changing the relative position between the trailing-rods.

Unfortunely, as you may know, with an IRS rear susension, there is no way to build in lots of antisquat..... because the torque reaction is confined in the differential.

The only way to do it, is to soften the rubber front mount of the differential and to place e link between the plate clamping the leaf spring and the rear cross member...... but the total antisquat can't be more than 25-30%

With Live Axles the antisquat can be even over 100%...... raising the back of the car under hard acceleration.

Anyway I don't care to much this limitation..... because the suspension is basically designed for handlig!
