Default C4 blower fan install question

For those of you who have installed the C4 fan and motor...what did you do about the motor vent tube? For some reason the hole in the casing shrunk on the C4 fan.

Would it be too hard to enlarge the hole with a Dremel and a grinding bit?

Yeah, there is some double-thick metal very close to the hole. Even if I enlarged it (and didn't get too much crap in the motor), it would be too thick for the flange on the C3 tube.

Let me guess, didn't go to sleep again Sam?

My next step, if I were doing it, would be to take the butt of of a C4 rubber hose that fits the fan, and the neck off of the C3 hose, and cut them to meet and just mate the two tubes with either a coupler or a plastic bonding adhesive of some kind.

I think my motor/fan combo came with a tube, and so that is what I did.....I really need to re do the fan housing, instead of that adaptor plate, but really I"m too lazy...it works...leave well enough alone..

Mine didn't come with a tube. I think I'll see if O'Reilley's has something that will fit and can be grafted to my original tube.

I upgraded my '73 HVAC fan/motor to a '78 unit and have no fit issues.
