headlights up distress light?

headlights up distress light?
Had to take my 73 out for one of the last times this year and when i turn on the driving lights the red idiot light comes on. The eyelids come up and the lights are on so i figure its got to be some kind of sensor button. Where the HELL is it? Its pretty hard to see up into the underside of the lights and I cant find a thing. Ive had this car since 1977 and know ALMOST every nut and bolt, but this one is having me spend alot time laying around looking up! Anyone know what I am looking for??? Would appreciate any help / advice, Thanks, Bob

Check pic in post #2. If yours are broken just unplug them until you can get new ones-unplugging will turn dash light off.

There are two switches, one on each light that monitors the headlights. The switches are normally closed and will open when the headlights reach the full up position and turn off the red light. Lean down under the car and you can see the switches through the opening under the light. The switches are kind of fragile and will break fairly easily. I have pictures but cannot access them right now.
