My L-88 spec, 427 has run pretty strong since purchasing it this summer. A couple of weeks ago, I had to pull out the headlight assemblies to replace the header bar. While I had everything apart, I tested all of the headlight vac. parts and found a moderate leak in the valve. I then disconnected the system from my engine. This caused a noticeable performance loss off the line (harder to get rubber). I assumed from this that my mixture was now rich. I adjusted the idle, as best I could (I think I may have too much of transfer slot exposed), but the power off the line issue should be more than an Idle circuit adjusment.
Any suggestions for tuning? I have a Holley 4150 series 850 DP with a 6.5 power valve. Now that I have added a vac adv., I have about 10" of vac. I have not torn it down so I don't know what size jets it has.
