Default Cam for Turbo

Would this cam be way wrong for a street turbocharger?

Thinking of adding a rear mount turbo with low boost.

Generally you want a bigger intake/exhaust lobe seperation with any forced industion camshaft. 110 seperation of the cam listed is not what I would run, a 112 to 114 LSA is better with a forced induction system. The lift is also not as important with forced induction, 0.600" is pretty big, you will have to run a stiff set of springs to seat the intake valve on a SB Chevy with much boost, most rear mount turbos run 7-10PSI so this isn't a big problem at these lower boost levels. Most cam companies have a "turbo" cam selection on their catalogs.

I agree with the above. A tighter LSA will hold the boost in better than a 110 or 112, 114 or 115 would be better. As far as the duration and split, typically a single pattern cam will do the trick, don't go too crazy with high duration as it isn't necessary. Log manifold setups usually do best with a reverse split duration (ie 228/224, 230/226), whereas tubular header designs benefit more from a single pattern or mild split, (ie 224/224 224/226). This is just the basics I've learned while building my LS1 turbo setup, whether or not it holds true for a big block I'm not positive. Good luck with the build up, post some pics when your done.

Would a Procharger work on this? Comp ratio is 10.4 I'd rather not have to re-do the pistons and cam but I will if it would help a lot.

It would be cool to see some pics of a rear mounted turbo on a C3. Is there any out there?
