The exact break down that you ask for is not available. The records will show totals for options but not combinations. Anything more than that is just a guess at best.
Does anyone know how many came with the L82 option and can you break it down by auto trans and 4 sp manual?
I also need to know total number of 4 speeds in both L48 and L82 configs.
The actual numbers are not known but have been speculated often over the years. The number thrown around is 200 and I've even seen 300 used.
What's known is that L82 M21 Pace Cars are the desirable options and an L48 four-speed Pace Car is a rare commodity. For example last year at the Barrett Jackson auction, an L48 four-speed Pace Car went for some $47k.

Thanks all. I was pretty sure the numbers weren't available but you never know who has what knowledge in the Corvette community. I had heard the 4 speeds were pretty rare.
They were all pretty much loaded up with comfort and convenience options, but the powertrain options were up to the buyer or dealer who ordered the car.
Think the 4-spds were rare because with the 1 car per dealer order from GM and with most dealers ordering these cars themselves, the dealers had to order the car that would be most attractive to widest range of buyer, and this meant the automatic tranny. Also, the 4-spd was dropped in California after 1975 along with the L82 so the L48/Automatic was the only CA combo available.
I can remember a friend of mine having a loaded L-48 automatic Pace Car. The car was from Texas originally. I also remember it was a dog performance wise.
