Default ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Whoever said it was time for a frame off when i asked my first question about changing the pads.......what is it about these cars?????

I got the front calipers mounted along with the stainless flex lines- started on the rears- went to install the drivers side stainless flex line and the distribution block snapped at the connection!!!! so i figure ok, i'll get the block off and see if i can get another local.....

the darn main line was so corroded that the fitting stripped in no time...and i used a snap on flare wrench so it wasn't a case of the wrong tools (i don't know how i even got this tool as i've never used it until i started working on these brakes).

if i'm going to replace the hardest brake line to replace, i might as well do them all

so i now i'm waiting for my full stainless brake line kit, all new clips, and new distribution blocks. I was halfway tempted to just order a new proportioning vavle and master cylinder so i wouldn't break those installing everything else .

Sounds rough man. A tip for next time, is clamp the line wrench with a small Vise Grips so it won't slip and strip.

Hope you get it all taken care of.

If they strip out, you can usually get them loose with a vice grip, It destroys the thread, but works. Reinstall them with one too, if just one, I mean, how many times do you change the brake lines in a car? That's what I did with my D/S ss to rubber flex line. That's a good idea DB, hadn't heard of that before.

i considered that, but i really can't bring myself to bubba the lines after spending as much as i did on these darn calipers. I would have been ok with their condition if the distribution block hadn't snapped . Thanks though.

Cut the old lines off at the block, right at the top of the fitting. Use a regular 6-point socket on the fitting. They'll turn right off with a bit of pressure.
