Default ?? parking brake lever

I have '74 C3. When I try to push the button on the parking brake
lever to release the brake, the grip slides up next to the button
making it difficult to release. I've looked at the grip but don't see
how the grip is staked to the shaft. If someone has encountered this
problem I would like to know how you resolved it.

Thanks for any help,
Robert

I have the same issue on my 81. Looks like a press fit to me.... like grips on a bicycle handlebar. except... no streamers

My 78 did the same thing. It's a pressed fit that has some kind of adhesive on it I think. I replaced the brake lever because no matter what I tried it didn't work. So to keep it from looking like crap I just replaced it with a new one. From what I can gather it seems to be a common problem with the C-3 after it gets some age on it.
