Bought a air compressor
I finally broke down and got a air compressor, got the Craftsman 6hp 30 gallon. :D So far I have just inflated some tires, but hope to get some tools to go with it. Cambell (spelling) sells lots of tools for it are they any good?

COOL! i just got one a few weeks ago, 33gal model. i am already in love with it, esp helped in removing oil pan bolts.

i got a 1/2" impact, 3/8" wrachet, and a 3/8" butterfly impact.
i figure those should cover most applications. i might get a die grinder too.

Learn to read specs before you buy air tools. You can pick out the higher-quality tools by the lower scfm as well as the price. You'll be better off if you choke out the extra bucks for quality tools the first time. If you get a 1/2 impact, get one of the professional lines that can develop over 350 ft.lbs of forward torque. They're going to cost at least twice as much, but you'll find the cheaper (under $80.00) impacts don't develop enough power to get some of the tough nuts and bolts to spin. I have a cheaper CP that I use for most stuff and don't mind beating it up a bit, but when the job calls for more power, I use an IR 231. Most of my air tools are USA-made Ingersol Rand (they also have a cheap Taiwan-tools line so you have to be careful when you're looking), but sometimes a cheap home-use tool like the CH line is o.k. Air tools are the best invention since sliced bread. I have two compressors; a Champion VR3-60 two-stage for the big jobs and a Sears hotdog compressor for the small stuff. Two 1/2 impacts, a 3/8 impact, a 3/8 ratchet, grinder, air hammer, and die grinder. They're addictive for sure.

I just bought the 2 stage 175 psi Caftsman, so far do good. I bought I couple of Chicago Pnuematic ( air ratchet and impact gun ) these tools are good and not too expensinve :D

I have a cheaper CP that I use for most stuff and don't mind beating it up a bit, but when the job calls for more power, I use an IR 231.

I have a CP 1/2 and 3/8 guns and 2 die grinders A drill an air hammer and a 3/8 air ratchet. They are all CP or Ingersol rand. They were bought in the early 80s when I was working on cars. They have been used and abused and they are still going strong. They were not cheap but they will probably be passed on to my son. I once tried a 3/8 air gun (cheapie) it lasted one week in the garage and broke. No fancy compressor here 3 HP 30 Gallon tank. It does the job.
