I noticed that when I get on my car hard there is a very slight waddle in the rear end. It feels like the tail end is slowly moving from left to right and back again. I'm guessing its the trailing arm bushings. Any ideas?
Hey Paul,
check the shims but they should be held in with a cotter pin. Look at the amount of endplay in the diff yokes as well. My 69 was so worn at one point I felt the rear of the car sway at 65 mph on the highway.
I went through the diff, tuned the posi, fit yokes to .005 endplay, and rebuilt the arms and the car drove like new. Of course I late pulled it all down to do a body off!!!
Let me know if you have any questions, you should have my number.

When I first got mine, it shifted to one side when driving down the road. If it was a slight turn the rear would move the right side. Quite unnerving for sure. It turns out the yokes coming of the diff were worn out like Gary was suggesting.
