Maybe not the most common...but....if the little switch for the light in the glove box is not adjusted right, it will leave the light on AFTER you close the door. You will never know it. I accidently discovered mine in the dark garage one night. This was after 3 or 4 batteries over 2 or 3 years. It will kill the battery in a couple of days. I was always charging my 72. Fixed the switch!
Check and make sure the battery ground cable has a good clean contact to the post of the battery. That fixed my battery problem .If you don't run the car regularly the battery will drain aqbout 1% per day on it's own. Put a trickle charger on the battery and away goes your battery problem.

Also, mine will drain down after a couple of weeks of sitting and I've been told it's the clock.

As you're seeing from responses, having a small power drain doesn't necessarily indicate something is wrong. If you're not going to crank more often than every couple of weeks or so, a Battery Tender may be in order.
When I first got my vette, my battery would drain within 2 or three days, found the the T top alams system was shorted somewhere, pulled the alam fuse and never looked back. Semper Fi Bob
Once you find the source of your battery drain, you ought to consider a battery disconnect. Anytime you are dealing with 30+ year old wiring, you run the risk of fires. Battery disconnects are quick, one minute or less, and cheap, less than $30. Great piece of mind knowing that your car won't burn to the ground due to a short, no battery drain, and even offers a small sense of security since the bad guy has to figure out why the car won't turn on.
