Default 1972 Corvette I'm missing a part and what is it?

Need your help please.
I own a 1972 Corvette 454 Four Speed with air.
I took photos of my compartment where the Jack is stored.
There is a relay not sure the purpose, a 2 white wire and a 1 Yellow wire 2 prong connector that is supposed to plug into a______?

Thanks

Just use a standard turn signal flasher.

The other relay is the "hold-in" or locking relay for the alarm.

I would replace them both simply because the relay can go bad and drain the battery. If this happens, I'm willing to bet you won't even remember it's back there and a potential source for the drain.

We had issues in a 76 we built. Car had a new harness installed so we knew the wiring wasn't hacked. Took us a while with an ammeter to track the drain down. Turned out to be that relay.

Autozone.........ask for a turn signal flasher and a horn relay for a 78 Corvette.
(Not sure that you need the relay.A correct numbered alarm relay could cost you big bucks, why dont you try yours and see if it works. The horn relay for the 78 will replace the alarm relay for the 72 but you might have to switch 2 wires in the connector but I dont think so.)

VTcivil: The anti theft alarm was standard in 1972, you should have a key switch on the back between your tail lights.

I have the same key hole on my '73 and it opens the trunk.
Did the 73's come with an alarm system?

Trunk?

Yes, that should be how you engage the alarm. Later models have it over the driver side front wheel.

Its enabled/disabled by the key in the back of the body that looks like a trunk key.

I've got a 72 and there is no such keyhole in the tail. All that is between the tail lights is the corvette letters...

Check near your front driverside fender for another lock.
