Default 93 LT1 Swap into a C3

I recently found a 93 LT1 for an amazing price so I have decieded to buy it instead of a ZZ4. (Gotta love fuel injection)

I have been told that the LT1 will bolt right into stock motor mounts, but my 1980 Stingray, has a TH350 and I want a manual.. I am looking at going and getting a T5 from an 80's Camaro or Firebird. I guess my first question is on what cars can I take a T5 off of and rebuild to take 300-350hp.

Next is the ugly question. Are the spines the same? Will I need a new driveshaft? Worse yet will the crossmembers need to be changed?

Thanks
J

Yes,yes, and yes. I think the T-5 will work with a stock LT-1. Yes, regardless of 4L/60 or T-5 you will need a new cross member and a shortened driveshaft.
Why the T-5? Seems like the 4L/60 would work good.

Check out VetteDan's site. He did an incredible job of dropping in an LT1 and 4L60E.

Did you get the PCM and all the sensors. Also check out Painless Wiring or Street & Performance for harnesses and other goodies.

The 4L60 is same as the 700R4 with electronic speedo and gear selectors. Great low gear and overdrive. It should mate up with your ECM perfect.

i honestly think that T5s are junk. if your gunna go all out with a late model LT1, why not go with a T56?? or keep the auto and put a killer shift kit in it
