Sound from rear
My 1980 has a strange "thump,thump" sound coming from the right rear. It sounds faster as the car goes faster, slower as it slows down. It STOPS upon acceleration, but remove the gas and "thump, thump,thump..." Even in neutral and the car rolling I get the noise. Replaced the differential cushion, u-joints,rotated the tires. I have verified that it is definitely coming from the right wheel area. Replaced the parking brake components, cable etc. and still the noise. Any ideas? It sounds like a wobble (put a golf ball inside a coffee can and roll it) but no interior vibration. Would a bad bearing make this sound? What about a worn spindle? Two mechanics and neither could figure it out. I plan on removing the trailing arm but would love to know what you think. Thanks!

Mine was not a constant thump thump....but did go away upon applying gas. Drove me nuts...spent hours hunting for it. I had two rebuilt Van Steel trailing arms on the way when I discovered......a LH top shock bolt not fully tightened.....from when I installed my Bilsteins.
Also, pull those T arms and replace the bushings.....you can bet they are bad.
