Looking for any feedback from people who have used a Braille lightweight battery. I'm actually looking into using one in a boat application. I'm currently running 3 Interstates and could save 80# or so off the stern. Spec's look good, warranty OK and competive $$ with Optimas. Would maybe be funky in a Vette due to the small size.
There are several models including deep cycle.
With the placement of the battery in C3's, small and light would be good.
Some of these batteries are about 7"X5"X7' and only weigh 12 pounds.
It would be a nice replacement in my C2, but I still haven't gotten any feedback from anyone that has actually used one. You can see the spec's in the catalogs of the big 2 mail order speed shops.

I find this stuff interesting. Do you have any links?
I use the same battery (with another brand name sticker on it). Mine is called the "Offensive Power" battery... It's the same 12 lbs battery. I've raced with it for 1 season so far with no issues.. The charge doesn't last very long when trying to crank a high compression engine.. However, the battery was strong enough to crank my 12.8 : 1 compression engine.
I wouldn't do that on anything but a race only car. There is no replacement for CCA on a street car. If your starter gets a little marginal, maybe gets prone to heat soak, you leave the radio on once.....your stuck
It is one of the great mysteries to me why we cannot produce a light weight battery for production cars. I don't believe there has been any progress in this area in the past 50 years. It seems to me that if there could be some advancement here, a lot could be saved in energy costs due to the weight reduction. I've got a CL Mercedes and almost got a double hernia installing my last battery for this sucker. (Sorry, a little off the subject here but I had to get my 2 cents in).

The 21 pounder has 550 CCA. Seems OK for a mini-starter...
