Got the tie-rods on, and brakes taken care of. Now on to the stock l-48. Its a 74 with stock iron intake. I am leaning towards Edelbrock Performer Air-Gap. This being said, Im looking to do the top end first and if need be stroke it if im still not happy. This will be a project, spanning over years, not all at once. My goal for the motor is 400ish, with good torque. My knowledge is limited, but I'm learing... So my question is, is Edelbrock Performer Air-Gap the choice i want to make for my goals? Or is there a better product I should be looking at? And is clearance an issue with this manafold?
No its just the first step ... Pulling 400 plus from a 195hp motor with an intake would be awesome though I just want to make sure i don't buy an intake first, change the head or cam etc later, and have to buy a different intake.

Well, what I'm thinking is for a good set of heads and a good low price you can get Vortec heads. In that case, you would want to buy a Vortec manifold.
