Well picked up my motor in last week and put in the car this weeked. It started up right away but I have a bad oil leak coming from the front on the oil pan. My engince builder used a thick one peice pan gasket. The fan is blowing the oil on the exhaust so we did not run it to long. Looks like he will be getting a call first thing in the morning.
Looking at your pic it looks more like the leak may be coming from the timing case gasket. If so you may be able to take a ballpeen hammer and tap around the lower portion of the cover and stop the leak
Depending upon how picky you are, you have the valve covers on backwards. In other words, the flag logo valve cover goes on the right side and the oil filler cap valve cover is on the left side.

I am going to jack it up tonite and see if the bolts are loose. If not I am going to have it flat beaded over to my engine builder. The motor sounds great but the fan is blowing the oil on the exhaust.
Just spoke with the engine builder. He believes the gasket is the wrong one. He said there are 2 one piece gaskets one that has a thinner flangs around the bottom of the timing cover and one that has a thicker flange. He must have apologized 3 times on the phone and said he should have checked it. He is going to have the car flat bedded later this week and will put it up on the lift and change it. I am happy he is a stand up guy. Besides that the motor sounded great. Atleast I don't have to listen to that lovely rod knock I had.
