I am about to place an order with Year one, and was thinking of adding a shift kit for my 1980 TH350. All they sell is the TCI kits. I was wondering if anyone has herd anything about the TCI kits (like are they too harsh). There are two options, the Trans Scat valve body kits, and the Valve Body performance improver kits. I am wondering if these are good, and how difficult they are to install, for example, am i going to need to remove the transmition, or just the valve body (i have a four post car lift). And am i going to regret doing this myself thanks for your help
There is only ONE worth having, that is Trans Go....the rest are junk, IMO......
now having said that.....if your tranny oil is brownish or dark in color, you need rebuilt the tranny also. OR it will fail quite quickly for the new fluid in there which cleans out all the small cracks from lip/oring seals internal to the clutch packs, washes out all the crap sealing the tired old rubber dried out seals,......
honestly, today's driving with freeways and all, I"d consider a 200 4r overdrive tranny, same thing, plug in mechanically, simple hookup for the lockup converter on the electric side of things.....
