Speedometer bounce ??
I just noticed that my 81's speedometer needle is bouncing around at low speeds below 25. The cable is new, and so is the drive assemble in the tranny (but as we all know, that means nothing really) The car has 77K miles. Should I go after the cable...possible binding...maybe was not lubed enough....or is the issue in the meter itself ??

No, it was removed last year...new cable from speedo to trans. Just put a new speedo drive gear assemble in a few months ago due to leaking seal....so thats new too. I am thinking it's the speedo....dry bearings or something) but thought I would ask the experts first. If I recall from my old 70 Nova....I think they speedos are magnetcally coupled??
