Default Sleeves / No Sleeves

Alright guys, need your help!!

Removed original A-arm bushings which were rubber with steel sleeves inside and out. Received new poly bushings without sleeves!!

Do I need the metal sleeves with the poly bushings?

If so, do you know which suppliers have them and would they be specific to rubber/poly?

Thanks Dan

Most poly bushings come with new metal sleeves AFAIK. Some will say leave the old ones in. I recently replaced my sleeves. You will probably be OK not to replace them, just make sure they are smooth inside and the poly bushings should not be loose.

CA bushing (both rubber & poly) has 3 parts:
Steel Outer Shell
Rubber or poly bushing.
Steel Inner Sleeve.

OE bushing is bonded ... rubber bonded to both shell & sleeve.
Aftermarket Poly bushing Not bonded ... all 3 parts are separate.

If you removed old shells from your CA ... you need new ones.

If you did Not remove old shells from your CA ... and you're using POLY bushings ... you can reuse (clean) old outer shells and reuse (clean) old inner sleeves.

Check ID of your poly bushings....... and you will know for shure if you need the sleeves!!!

If yes....... you have to clean it very well..... remeber that the rubber flex and plyurethane slide!!!!!

A very very clean inner sleeve if essential..... plus a bit of silicon grease!!
