Tips for breaking in an engine on a stand
Based on what I have seen and heard on the forum I am assuming that I should be able to run the engine on an engine cradle type of stand. The cradle type uses the engine mounts and is low to the ground. I don't see a big difference between that type of stand and those that other forum members have built or described. I just thought why build a square stand on wheels when I can buy one from Jegs for $50.
I do not intend to rev the engine only run it at steady rpms to break in the cam and check for leaks. I will probably rig up some bracing so I can be really safe at start up.
Any tips to ensure a quick start up would be appreciated. Since this a brand new motor and the first time it will be started. what should I watch for?
