All the seepage is not a problem to wash out. It all hoses away even a week later when its cool for this time o the year.
Yet that darn MICRO DUST is kicken my sphinster, still cant find it to clean it off.
Also to close my hood, I hold at at full open and drop a MOOSE on it

Dont worry when I get new paint this will come to an end. Dam tho no more dirt roads, driving in the rain, snow, hunting buggy, and paint is a few years away, dam sure I'll enjoy every mile till then. New paint then buy another to rebuild and enjoy and turn this one over to my girl. Just dont tell her.

I drop mine, but If I dont drop it from far enough only one side latches, and thats a pain, and If I drop it from too high they both latch but one side will go too far down and that doesnt look good at all, so sometimes I have to try it 2-3 times before it lines up properly. I believe this may be just due to bad weather strip on one side. I have also thought about hood pins, How do you guys like em???

Loving this thread from a tech standpoint (SOMEday I'll need to adjust these things, the "blueprint" idea sounds great) and entertainment.
But remember one thing about hoodpins. They have a cable and a hairpin, both of which can (will) leave scratches in your paint. Just ask the hood of my '70 El Camino! It's primer black, so not a big deal, but the cables mar it, and sooner or later, no matter how perfect-paint-finish-**** you are, you'll scratch it when pulling a pin.

You dont need the motorized draw downs.Just remove the springs that pop up the hood and readjust hood height to match fenders. Then remove the return spring on the hood release pull cable so you wont have to have someone hold it out while you open hood. Then just push handle back in and lower hood.

Too scared now to open my hood in fear of microdust so I guess I'll just go down to the micro brewery drink down a couple of microbeers and then build up my courage to take on the microdust.
Later on I'll take the vette for a drive in the country see if I can run over a couple of deer or moose slap them over my hood for dinner. Time to install a luggage no make that a deer rack.
We need more educational posts like this one!!
